Real Madrid bade farewell to Usman Garuba.

Usman Garuba has officially parted ways with Real Madrid, the club announced. The 2021 EuroLeague Rising Star is on his way to signing with the Houston Rockets, the team that selected him with the 21st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Real Madrid and Garuba reached an agreement regarding the $3 million buyout on his contract, which the player will pay in installments. The Spanish big man is leaving Real eight years after he first joined them as a teenager.
Garuba, 19, entered Real Madrid’s academies in 2013. He became a member of Real’s B’ team in 2017 and was promoted to the first team in 2019. Last season he was named the Spanish ACB League’s Best Young Player, apart from Rising Star in EuroLeague.
